A woman is dead after an accident in Agawama

AGAWAM, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – One person is dead after a crash in Agawam.

Agawama Police Sergeant Brian Machos said the reported head-on collision occurred near 916 Suffield Street around 9:20 a.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived, they found a 35-year-old woman with serious injuries who was unresponsive. Emergency crews extricated her and took her to Baystate Medical Center, where she later died.

The crash remains under investigation by the Agawam Police Department, Mass. State Police Analysis and Reconstruction Unit. State and troopers assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office.
