TEXAS CITY, Texas – A tragedy occurred in Texas City, resulting in the death of a father and son.

What we know: According to police in Texas, a 15-year-old boy accidentally shot his 17-year-old brother.

The incident happened just after 1 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of 10th Avenue North.

Investigators say that when the boys’ father tried to provide medical care and save his son, the man died of a heart attack.

The family is in mourning and is now planning two funerals.
