Aubrey Plaza is deleting her Instagram account following the death of husband Jeff Baena

Aubrey Plaza has apparently deleted her Instagram account following the death of her husband, Jeff Baena. A week after Baena died by suicide at the age of 47message on White Lotus star Instagram page read: “Sorry, this page is unavailable. The link you clicked may be broken or the page may have been deleted.”

Plaza’s Instagram account had over five million followers and was active in the weeks before her husband’s death. The news broke on Monday, January 13, just over a week after an assistant reportedly discovered Baena’s body on January 3 at his Los Angeles home. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that authorities responded to a call near Baena’s residence and that the writer and director were pronounced dead at the scene. Baena’s cause of death was ruled a suicideaccording to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s report.

Plaza with Baena’s family, she referred to her husband’s death in a statement released PEOPLE three days after his death, calling his death an “unimaginable tragedy.” The statement added: “We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. We ask you to respect our privacy during this time.”

Plaza and Baena have been together since 2011. The couple, who had no children, married in 2020. Plaza waited until next year to announce her wedding during a December 2021 televised appearance. The Ellen DeGeneres show.

“Many things have happened for me during Covid-19. Yes, we got married. Big deal,” she said. “We were a bit bored one evening. We got married and let me tell you how: Onehourmarriage.com. It’s true, check it out.”

Throughout their relationship, the pair collaborated on numerous projects, including Baena’s directorial debut in 2014, Life after Beth. In the film, which was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, Plaza played Beth Slocum, who dies after being bitten by a poisonous snake while hiking and returns as a zombie. The pair also worked together The end of love (2012), Small hours (2017) i Spin me (2022), as well as a comedy series Cinema toastwhich aired on Showtime in 2021.

I’m talking to PEOPLE about their 2019 collaboration, Plaza said, “I think when you’re with someone who’s in your field, that person understands on a deeper level what you’re dealing with. “So you’re obviously able to support each other and really understand the journey that we’re both on.”

“So I think this could be really great,” she added. “But you know, working with a partner can always be a challenge. There are a lot of things we do separately and I think it’s about balance.
