One person is dead and one is seriously injured in a collision between a truck and a motorcycle

A 46-year-old man, Thamabahadur Roka of Mangala Rural Municipality-6, died in a road accident at Chutreti in Beni Rural Municipality-6. The accident occurred when Roka, who was riding a motorcycle, collided with a truck.

Prem Shahi, a resident of Mangalghat in Beni Municipality-7, who was riding pillion, was seriously injured in the accident.

Locals said both people were initially taken to Beni Hospital for treatment. However, due to lack of proper equipment, they were taken to Pokhara the same evening. Unfortunately, Roka succumbed to his injuries at a medical college in Pokhara, while Shahi is still undergoing treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital.

They were both traveling with Tatopani when the accident occurred. A truck traveling from Beni to Tatopani collided with their motorcycle. According to Inspector Sagar Poudel, truck driver Khime Darji, a resident of Beni-5 commune, is currently in police custody.
