Tupelo, Miss. (WCBI) – Challenger for the mayor of Tupelo was accused of a simple robbery in connection with the incident that took place this weekend.

Sheriff of Lee, Jim Johnson, said that 56-year-old Roba Chambers was accused of digging a 13-year-old in the groin after a teenager approached his house in Tupelo, called the door, knocked on the door and escaped.

Sheriff Johnson said that Chambers was waiting outside after a similar incident took place a few hours earlier. Sheriff Johnson said that the teenager who led side by side recorded quarrels. The parents of the minor, who was attacked, submitted a report at the Sheriff’s office.

Chambers turned and was exempt from $ 600 bonds for a simple assault fee.

In a post on social media this weekend Chambers claimed that the incident was to harass him because he recently submitted a request against the mayor of Tupelo Todd Jordan at the Republican Primary School.

“Despite the statements in social media, there is no evidence that this incident was the result of political motivation or intimidation,” said Johnson.

Chambers has published a statement, in partly: “This is a sad day in Tupelo, when masked and unidentified people storm your home, threatening the safety and prosperity of your wife and a 13-year-old daughter, and you can’t defend yourself your own family and property without responsibility for a crime?
