A man accused after an alleged attempt to murder a small child in Yorkton

A 41-year-old man Saltcoats was accused of trying to kill after allegedly attacked a small child at home in Yorkton.

According to RCMP, the officers were called home on the Waterloo Road on Saturday afternoon on a serious assault.

“The investigation was described by an adult man attacked a child who is less than 6 years old, which was transported to a hospital with serious injuries,” said Saskatchewan RCMP in a statement.

Mounties said that the police could not give any updates of the child’s condition due to privacy considerations.

A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene of the incident, and now he is in prior to the accusation of attempted murder, assault, assault, choke and not observing the suspension order.

RCMP said that the Yorkton Courtooma was to appear.
