‘Naked and Afraid’ star Sarah Danser dies at 34 after a car accident in Hawaii

“Naked and Afraid” star Sarah Danser died on Tuesday following a car accident in Hawaii. She was 34 years old.

Honolulu Police confirmed to local news outlet KSLA News 12 that a car accident occurred on October 20 in Kahala, Hawaii.

According to authorities, the survivor was sitting in the passenger seat of the car when the 59-year-old male driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a parked car.

The police confirmed that the cause of the collision was speed, not drugs or alcohol.

After the accident, Danser was taken to hospital in a critical condition, the driver’s condition was serious.

A woman who was in a parked car was also taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Sarah’s father, Dan Danser, and her brother, Jake Danser, arrived at the hospital on Tuesday; however, Danser died from her injuries later that day.

Her family members said Sarah was wearing leis, scarves and bandanas given to her by close friends at the time of her death.

“Magical – that’s how you can describe her. Sarah had this positive energy that really filled the environment she was in,” Jake told the portal.

Her grieving father also recalled “what a difference” Sarah made “in the lives of others.”

“I think she saved my life once by diving in Indonesia,” Dan said.

The Hawaii-based company where Danser worked, Island Divers Hawaii, is working with the family to organize an ocean memorial for the late diving champion.

A two-time breast cancer survivor, Sarah lived part-time on a boat in the Kewalo Basin and was known for her adventures around the world.

She appeared on Discovery’s “Naked and Afraid” in 2017 and a spin-off titled “Naked and Afraid XL” a year later. She recently starred in the film “Fight to Survive”.

The boat captain was from Castle Rock, Colorado and had lived in Hawaii for about 12 years.

“She was smart. She went underwater. She found food, snails and stuff like that,” her diving buddy, Tim Mason, told KSLA. “She knew what to do to survive and she did great.”

Sarah last post on social mediashared on October 11, it showed the adventurer doing what she loved most: exploring the sea on a boat with a big smile on her face.

She described herself as a “pirate” in her Instagram bio.
