The Saints expect familiar rules from their new Chargers coaches

Even though the Los Angeles Chargers have a new staff led by coach Jim Harbaugh, it’s not like the Chargers (3-3) are bringing a ton of unexpected changes to Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints (2-5) at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Harbaugh coached the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-14 and then coached the University of Michigan from 2015-23; offensive coordinator Greg Roman held the title during three other NFL games, including against Harbaugh in San Francisco; and defensive coordinator Jesse Minter was Harbaugh’s defensive coordinator at Michigan the past two seasons.

You can see the achievements from those seasons to this one.

“They’re obviously a very physical team,” Saints coach Dennis Allen said. “They play physical football in all three phases.

“Defensively they did a good job of minimizing points, keeping everything in front of them, they are doing really well, they are playing hard. They have a couple of guys who provide pressure on the edge (linebacker Khalil Mack and linebacker Joey Bosa). that can catch up to the quarterback, are pretty good in the running game.

“Offensively, I thought they were able to move the ball pretty effectively, it looks like the quarterback (Justin Herbert) is getting healthy. He threw the ball really well on Monday night against Arizona. They are trained well, they “I have good plans, they are implemented at a high level and I think they play quite well.
