The Eagles will face the Rams without their defensive starter and half of their dynamic duo

The Eagles will face the Rams without their defensive starter and half of their dynamic duo

Well… This is certainly not the Philadelphia Eagles roster story we were hoping to write today. We were licking our teeth and ready to address the injury issues, and one of the attacking stars was cleared by the doctor to play.

We wanted to highlight DeVonta Smith and say he’ll be ready for the Week 12 game against the Los Angeles Rams. What can we say? Sometimes things don’t work out the way we plan.

Oh well. Let’s continue this. This is what we see and hear as we begin to organize another day of work for the Eagles.

Name someone with DeVonta Smith’s physique that’s tougher. Don’t worry. We’ll wait. You can’t think about anyone, can you? There may be guys just as solid, but no one is tougher.

Once upon a time, we held our breath every time he was hit, and we have been doing so since he earned his spot as a member of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

However, they don’t call him the Slim Reaper for nothing. Skinny Batman has never stopped being skinny, but he’s as tough as can be, even though he’s also mortal

So Smith is human. Well… DeVonta has been dealing with a persistent hamstring issue for some time now. He carried this over into the Week 12 game against the Washington Commanders, but played all four quarters and finished the game strong.

After that match, we saw him limping off the pitch and going to the locker room. The forecast is not good for this week’s Sunday Night Football event.

He was not on the field during the Eagles’ indoor training session on Friday. He was ruled out of the upcoming primetime game against the Los Angeles Rams. Philly also announced that after head coach Nick Sirianni informed the media that Bryce Huff would undergo surgery and recently acquired edge rusher would be placed on Philly’s injured reserve.

Check out the full Philadelphia Eagles injury report from Friday. Further squad updates will be made available on Saturday. Inactive participants will be announced 90 minutes before start.

Here is Bryce Huff’s announcement from Philly’s social media team.

With Smith and Huff out of the lineup, stars will be asked to step in, but if you haven’t heard, Philly has plenty on both sides of the scenes.

Expect big matches from AJ. Brown, Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert in DeVonta’s absence. It is possible that there will also be reinforcements in the form of Britain Covey. A 21-day window has opened for him, and according to the Eagles’ health report on Friday afternoon, his participation in Sunday’s game is doubtful.
