SWAC ‘investigating’ Jackson State football program for alleged video theft

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Both the Southwestern Athletic Conference and Jackson State Athletics have released a statement regarding the alleged theft of practice film from the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff by the JSU football team.

Friday, ESPN published an article stating that “SWAC has opened an investigation into an allegation that Jackson State players and coaches had access to video of the Arkansas-Pine Bluff team’s week of practice prior to the team’s November 2 game.”

At approximately 10:45 a.m. that same day, immediately after the article was published, Jackson State released the following statement.

At approximately 12:32 p.m., WLBT contacted SWAC regarding the claims, who responded, “We are looking into this matter.”

The league did not provide any further information.
