Police say they were stunned when the man allegedly committed the same driving offenses for which he was arrested earlier in the day.

The Paraparaumu man was initially charged with failing to stop and dangerous driving.

A short time later, officers spotted him wheelieing past the police station on Cedar Drive.

Police found the man at his address a few minutes later and he was subsequently arrested.

His motorcycle was also confiscated.

The 32-year-old appeared in Porirua District Court on Wednesday to face the first set of charges and will appear in the District Court on December 10 on repeated offenses.

“Police will not tolerate this type of behavior and will always take further action to ensure that dangerous drivers and passengers are held to account,” Acting Sergeant Jordan Dykes said.
