Komoroski was charged with reckless homicide and three counts of DUI. Circuit Court Judge Deadra L. Jefferson sentenced Komoroski to 25 years in prison for the crime of DUI manslaughter. She was sentenced to 10 and 15 years for other crimes, but will serve these sentences concurrently.

“She won’t be able to come back to life in 10, 25 years,” Samantha Miller’s mother, Lisa Miller, told the court after Komoroski pleaded guilty. according to NBC affiliate WCBD in Charleston. “It’s a lifetime.”

Komoroski apologized for what she called her “thoughtless” behavior and stated that she was “hopelessly” addicted to alcohol at the time of the accident.

“I take full responsibility for my actions,” she said at one point, looking at the victims’ relatives and relatives. “I hope one day you can forgive me. Miller died of blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
