Gia Allemand he had a contagious smile and a bubbly personality that shined throughout Bachelor Nation. Fans fell in love with the New York native after her debut on the reality show in season 14 Single in 2010 and were devastated when she died three years later.

How did Gia Allemand from Bachelor Pad die?

Gia died by suicide at her home in New Orleans in 2013. She took her own life after an argument with her boyfriend Ryan Anderson– according to the author’s report ABC Newswho obtained court documents.

According to the documents, the former NFL player told Gia that he was no longer in love with her after he dropped her off at her apartment building. Later that night Gia’s mother, Donna Michelettishe called Ryan and asked him to check on Gia at her house because she was worried that “something was wrong” with her daughter.

Upon arriving at Gia’s residence, Ryan told officials he found her with a rope “wrapped around her neck multiple times.” According to the report, Gia wrote a note that read: “Mom gets everything.” It was found next to her body.

A neighbor called 911 and when first responders arrived on the scene, they performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Gia and then transported her to University Medical Center in New Orleans. Gia was on life support for two days before it was disconnected and she died on August 14, 2013.

“Due to the critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was disconnected today,” Gia’s family wrote in a statement on the day of her death. “SM. Allemand passed away peacefully in the company of her mother, boyfriend and other lifelong friends. As a practicing Christian, Gia indeed received the sacrament of extreme rites.”

Gia made it to the final three Jake Pavelkaseason Single next to the players Vienna Girardi AND Tenley Molzahn. Not only did her sweet spirit win viewers’ hearts, but her post-fantasy package elimination attitude cemented her as one of Bachelor Nation’s favorites.

After Jake sent Gia home before the Bachelor season 14 finale, Gia made further appearances The Ellen DeGeneres Show – and he was only talking about Jake and his last two women.

“I think Tenley would be the obvious choice because they have so much in common,” Gia told Ellen at the time. “But in Vienna, when they are together – being on a 2-on-1 date with her – everything just goes away. They just go.

Gia later gushed that she “liked Vienna a lot and (thought) she was a really good person.”

Jake reacted to Gia’s death with a statement from his publicist: CharmaineBlakesaying, “We have lost an angel and a very dear friend.”

Gia returned to the silver screen shortly after returning home Single. Along with some of her former costars, Gia joined the cast of the show’s first season Bachelor’s pad in 2010.

Despite dominating and winning the cake eating contest in week two, Gia was eliminated the following week.

Fans are celebrating Gia Allemand after her death

People mourned Gia’s death, but continued her legacy by shining a light on her best moments. In 2020, a Reddit user shared his love for Gia and uploaded a clip of the late ABC star from her 2-on-1 date with Vienna and Jake.

“Gia was such a shining star. She was so nice and her high pitched voice was the sweetest. She was my dad and my favorite contestant of all time,” that person he wrote. “We really thought she would be the next Bachelorette. Here’s a sweet video showing how honest and real she is with Jake. It’s crazy to scroll through her Instagram. It’s like a time capsule to 2013. I can’t believe so much time has passed.”

Other Bachelor Nation stars also mourned Gia in tribute.

“#BachelorNation please join me in sending thoughts and prayers 2 @GiaAllemand’s family and all who have been blessed 2 know her. #angeltoosoon”, Season 1 of The Bachelorette Trista Sutter wrote by X on August 14, 2013.

“My heart is heavy. Thank you Gia for leaving an example of how to live beautifully. Thank you for letting your light shine,” Tenley wrote via the website Instagram then. “Thank you for this reminder… You did it right in everything you did. Thank you for the laugh. @GiaAllemand She continued to pray for the loved ones she left behind.”
