Driver injured, trapped between two vehicles in Poplar Bluff crash

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KFVS) – Two people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, officers were called to the Pine Street Bridge for a report of an accident that occurred on Oct. 29 at approximately 1:10 p.m.

Police say 64-year-old Ricky Cochran was driving a pickup truck eastbound on Pine St. when a bale of hay fell from his truck.

Cochran stopped the vehicle in the roadway and then got out to collect a bale of hay.

A passenger car that was also traveling east on Pine St. struck the concrete bridge railing as well as Cochran’s truck, pinning him between both vehicles.

Police say paramedics and firefighters were able to remove Cochran from between the two vehicles, and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the passenger car, 35-year-old Jeremy Thurner, was also taken to hospital.
