Three people were seriously injured in a crash during a police chase in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (WIBW) – Three people were seriously injured in a crash that occurred during a police chase in Wichita early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 3:48 a.m. Tuesday near E. Kellogg and Washington streets, on the southeast edge of downtown Wichita.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2007 Pontiac G6 was traveling westbound on Kellogg and was actively pursued by the Wichita Police Department.

According to the patrol, the Pontiac tried to exit Washington Street, but it failed to negotiate the curve, went through the grass and hit the ramp embankment.

The Pontiac then rolled, ejecting the driver and one of the two passengers.

All three passengers in the Pontiac were taken to Via Christi St. Hospital with serious injuries. Francis in Wichita.

They were identified as the driver, Samuel W. Freeman, 59, of Medicine Lodge; and passengers Nickoles E. Bolson, 29, of Wichita, and Hope Lynn Clark, 34, of Wichita.

The patrol found that Freeman and Clark were not wearing seat belts, but Bolson was wearing them.
