A politician representing Georgia suggested charging the migrant burning a woman to death He should get the death penalty on the New York subway.

Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene shared her opinion on X.

“Death penalty, don’t waste your money on a long trial,” she wrote on Christmas Eve.

“Convict him and finish him off,” she added, also referring to footage of the crime circulating on social media. “What he did is so incredibly wrong. I can’t watch this movie anymore. I don’t understand how it seems like no one tried to save her. Maybe they did, but it doesn’t look like it.”

On Sunday, 33-year-old Sebastian Zapeta allegedly set a woman on fire as she slept on a train in Brooklyn, and authorities say he fanned the flames with his shirt.

Federal immigration officials said the suspect is a Guatemalan citizen who came to the U.S. illegally.

Zapeta was charged with two counts of murder and one count of arson. The top charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison without parole.

During a press conference earlier this week, Tisch described murder as “one of the most depraved crimes that one person can commit against another human being.”

Zapeta is being held at the Rikers Island complex and is scheduled to return to court on Friday.
