University of Nebraska-Lincoln police are investigating a sexual assault at the Devaney Center

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department is investigating a third-degree sexual assault that occurred on Saturday, October 26 at the Devaney Center. That same evening, the Nebraska volleyball team played Michigan at the Devaney Center.

Police said the incident occurred between 6:31 p.m. and 6:44 p.m., when an unidentified man allegedly grabbed a woman’s buttocks while walking past her in the hall. The suspect is a man around 50-60 years old, wearing a navy blue T-shirt. The incident was reported to UNLPD on Tuesday. Police Department notified the university community about Wednesday’s incident.

Third-degree sexual assault is a misdemeanor and involves non-consensual contact that does not result in serious injury to the victim.
