Authorities say two women were shot to death in their home in Willingboro, New Jersey

Two women died after being shot by an intruder in their Willingboro, New Jersey, home on Wednesday morning, Burlington County authorities said.

According to the Burlington County Attorney’s Office, police were called to the first block of Harrington Circle in Hawthorne Park just after 4 a.m. on a report of a burglary. In the house they found the bodies of 33-year-old Catherine Nunez and her mother Marisol Nunez, 54, the prosecutor’s office said.

Initial findings show that the intruder got inside by breaking a window on the first floor. An autopsy showed that the cause of death of both women was gunshot wounds, and they were pronounced dead at the scene, the prosecutor’s office said.

Law enforcement officials said they do not believe it was a random incident and do not believe other neighbors are in danger.

The suspect fled before police arrived and no arrests were made,
