CNN’s Kaitlan Collins blasts BS over Trump’s ‘false’ claim

CNN presenter Kaitlan Collins called BS on the former president’s new claim Donald Trump that the votes were “rigged”, which he stated in an attempt to persuade those gathered at the rally to take part in the vote.

On Tuesday evening issue from CNN Source from Kaitlan Collinsthe host opened the show correcting Trump’s claims made at rally in New Mexico and linked this speech to the aftermath of the now infamous Madison Square Garden rally, which featured anti-Hispanic and anti-immigrant rhetoric:

COLLINS: Only a few days left in this race. Tonight, both campaigns will reach the same state at about the same time, the battleground state of Nevada, which has a large Latino population and could play a role in deciding what happens next Tuesday night.

Harris just finished her rally in Reno. She’s now headed to Vegas, where she’ll battle JLo on stage. A few moments ago, Donald Trump also concluded his event in Henderson, Nevada.

Every stop matters right now, just before the end of the race. And that’s what raised questions about why Donald Trump spent several hours in New Mexico today. It’s a state that has already been lost twice and is now seen as a safe territory for Democrats.

DONALD TRUMP (right), FORMER US PRESIDENT AND 2024 PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE: I’m only here for one reason.

They all said, “Don’t come.”

I said: Why?

New Mexico cannot be won.

I said: Listen, your votes are fake. We can win New Mexico.

(CHEERING)

TRUMP: I’m here for one simple reason. I like you a lot and it’s good for my credentials in the Latino and Latino community.

(CHEERING)

TRUMP: You know, on the East Coast they like to be called Latinos. You know that? On the west coast they like to be called Latinos.

COLLINS: All right, we’ll take this one at a time. I should note that votes are not rigged in New Mexico or anywhere else in any state.

But Trump seemed to avoid the real reason, saying out loud that he hoped to increase his confidence among Latino voters. At one point, as you heard there, he got his act together to poll the audience on whether they preferred to be called Latino or Latino.

Everything that happened in New Mexico prompted Vice President Harris to offer this response.

KAMALA HARRIS, VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, (D) PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATE: My opponent also delivers his closing address to America.

(hum)

HARRIS: And you’ve probably seen some of it. This is a hateful and divisive argument. He insults Latinos and makes immigrants scapegoats. And it’s not just about what he says. That’s what he’ll do.
