Prosecutor says Newton man pleaded guilty after stabbing at Watertown bus stop

Officials announced that a Newton man turned himself in to authorities after prosecutors said he beat and stabbed a person waiting for a bus in Watertown in October.

Omari Cassell, 18, turned himself in to Watertown police on Friday, Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan said.

Cassell is expected to be arraigned Monday in Waltham District Court on charges of assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (wearing footwear), assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife), assault with a dangerous weapon weapon (knife) and conspiracy – said the district attorney.
