Macomb County man charged with child pornography and drug sales causing overdose death

An investigation into a fatal overdose in Clinton Township led to the arrest of a Macomb County man who was charged with allegedly possessing child pornography.

Authorities say Ronald Hill Jr. of Clinton Township was charged with possession of child pornography after being arrested in connection with a drug sale that allegedly resulted in an overdose death a year earlier.

In November 2023, police were called after an overdose was reported near the Clinton and Romeo Plank rivers. Upon arrival, it turned out that the victim had died.

An investigation into the victim’s cause of death was launched and led police to Hill, who lived in Clinton Township at the time.

Officials say they searched Hill’s home, where they found additional evidence related to the overdose victim’s death. Meanwhile, detectives working on site determined that the suspect had child pornography.

On October 29, 2024, Hill was arrested.

He was charged in court with, among others,

  • Count 1: Delivery of a controlled substance causing death
  • Count 2: Delivery of a controlled substance in an amount of less than 50 grams

The judge set Hill’s personal bail at $50,000 and the possibility of release via GPS.

On Friday, Hill was again charged with allegedly possessing child pornography, including:

  • 3 counts of aggravated possession of child sexual abuse materials
  • 1 count of supplying cocaine in a quantity of less than 50 grams

Hill’s bail was also set at $500,000.
