The United Arab Emirates expressed solidarity with Serbia after the train station tragedy that killed 14 people and injured three others.

At least two children were among the dead in Novi Sad on Friday after the roof of a train station collapsed. Rescuers worked late into the night, using heavy construction equipment, to free the dead and injured from the rubble.

Serbian authorities ended the rescue operation on Saturday and initiated an investigation.

The United Arab Emirates expressed its condolences to the Serbian government and its citizens, especially the families of the victims.

Serbia declared Saturday a day of national mourning.

The University Clinical Center (UKC) in Novi Sad said in a statement that three injured people were in intensive care.

On Saturday morning, people brought flowers and toys and lit candles near the site of the incident. Workers were clearing the last of the rubble.
