An eight-year-old boy sets up a lemonade stand to help Helene’s victims

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – An eight-year-old from Lake Charles is making a huge difference in schools affected by Hurricane Helene.

Abby Rudd says one of her teachers at Episcopal Day School in Lake Charles told her about the storm and its impact on some schools. So she decided to set up a lemonade stand to help her classmates raise money.

So far, he has earned an impressive $2,240.

Abby says the money will be sent to an Episcopal day school in North Carolina like hers.
