Democratic insiders head into the final stretch of the election confident of Harris’ victory: ‘Sickening optimism’

Democracy experts and strategists express confidence as they approach the final hours of the election that Vice President Kamala Harris will defeat former President Donald Trump at the ballot box on Tuesday.

“Sickly optimistic” is how Democrats described themselves in New York magazine as the clock ticks down the final 100 hours of the election cycle.

Both Trump and Harris delivered their closing arguments earlier this week, with Trump addressing massive crowds at a historic rally at Madison Square Garden and Harris making her final appearance in the nation’s capital on Tuesday at the Ellipse, located just south of the White House and north of the National Mall.

Polls are neck and neck, with a national Fox News poll released last month showing Trump with a two-point lead over Harris as both focus on campaigning in key battleground states to increase pressure on their respective political views. Libra. As of Saturday morning, Trump has nine events scheduled through Election Day that will zigzag from battlegrounds such as Pennsylvania and Michigan to Georgia, as well as Virginia.

“The question is: who hasn’t decided who to vote for yet, who will actually vote?” – he said on CNN on Friday, noting that current polls show Harris and Trump tied. “And last week we felt like we were doing pretty well with people who made a decision last week, and we liked people who hadn’t made a decision yet….”

DEM STRATEGIST JAMES CARVILLE, CONFIDENT THAT HARRIS WILL WIN, ADVANTAGES ‘SWEET’ DEMOCRATS

“It’s very important to look at who these undecided people are,” Plouffe added.

Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville, who worked as former President Bill Clinton’s chief strategist successful elections in 1992, she touted that Harris’ financial support and a “united” Democratic Party are setting her up for victory over Trump on Tuesday.

“I think he’s going to win,” Carville said Friday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “She has more money, more energy, a more united party, better surrogates, and he is crazy.”

New York Magazine this week’s article detailed that there is widespread belief among Democrats that Democrats are cautiously optimistic about Tuesday’s victory, “based largely on the campaign’s close monitoring of early voting data from seven battleground states and evolving knowledge about who has already cast their votes and who still needs to be convinced.”

“This attitude is influenced both by reports from the field, especially from salespeople in competing suburbs, and by senior advisors staring at analytics in Wilmington. This is far from predicting victory. Instead, there is a belief that Harris maintains achievable paths to success. winning a majority or more of the vote in closely contested states — each of which they view as effectively close and almost all of which they view as home to Democrats who have an advantage in voter escape operations,” the magazine reported.

Other Democratic sources report much the same on social media and in media interviews.

DEMOCRATS HAVE A HUGE DILEMMA IF KAMALA HARRIS LOSES

Jon Favreau, former President Barack Obama’s speechwriting director, for example, posted on Trump at Madison Square Garden, which were negatively assessed by the media and Democrats, as well as other political issues that he considers to be flaws in the election.

Daily Beast columnist and political analyst David Rothkopf declared in a column Friday that “Kamala Harris will be the next president of the united states“pointing to Harris’ ‘exceptional campaign,’ speeches ‘filled with new energy and vision’ for the nation, and her ‘closing speech’ at the Ellipse in Washington.”

“On January 20, 2025, she will become America’s first female president, the first woman of color in America to become commander in chief, and the first person of Asian descent in America to become the nation’s chief executive,” he wrote.

CNN senior political data reporter Harry Enten said Thursday that there were “clear” signs of Harris winning.

“And the number one sign is that Harris, simply put, is more popular than Donald Trump,” he said.

The The Trump campaign and its allies Meanwhile, they remain steadfast in their belief that the Republican candidate will emerge victorious on Tuesday as Trump rallies his early voting base and attracts new supporters through his “Make America Great Again” pledge made after the Biden-Harris administration. As the cycle entered its final weeks, Trump said at a rally in Las Vegas last month that Harris’ campaign was “imploding” and that victory was ahead.

“(Harris) is basically imploding if you look at it. Because, look, I shouldn’t say this, but we’re ahead by a lot,” Trump said last Thursday.

TRUMP CAMP CLAIMS VICTORY AFTER ELECTION CASE LEGAL VICTORY IN THE BATTLEGROUND STATE

“We now have a significant advantage in Nevada. We have significant leads in Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Even in states that typically don’t play for 50, 60, 70 years. . . But the fact is that countries, including other countries, large countries, are involved in this and like us. But you know what? They think she is grossly incompetent. Let’s face it, he’s not doing well,” Trump continued.

“We are up against something much bigger than Joe or Kamala. And much more powerful than them, that is, the huge, cruel, corrupt, radical leftist machine that runs today’s Democratic Party. They’re just ships. In fact, they’ are perfect vessels because they will never get into trouble. I know many of them. But they are smart and malicious, we have to defeat them,” he said.
