A DeWitt woman died in a fatal crash on I-69 in Eaton County

BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) – A DeWitt woman was killed in a fatal crash Saturday morning on I-69 in Eaton County.

Michigan State Police said that at 10:20 a.m., troopers from the Lansing station were dispatched to the area of ​​northbound I-69 near Vermontville Hwy in reference to a single-vehicle collision.

According to Michigan State Police, a 77-year-old DeWitt woman, who was driving a 2023 Kia Sportage, was traveling northbound on I-69 when she experienced a medical condition that caused her to leave the roadway and crash, resulting in her death.

Police said alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash.

Both northbound and southbound I-69 were closed between Hartel and Lansing Rd, but have since reopened.
