Michael Page vs. Carlos Condit will headline Saturday’s Polaris 30 match at Fairfield Halls in London, and Uncrowned will broadcast live results from the Condit vs. MVP and highlights of an unexpected grappling match between long-time MMA veterans.

Page was talking Uncrowned in “The Ariel Helwani Show” last week about his surprising decision to test his grappling moves against Condit following his recent UFC decision loss to Ian Machado Garry.

“I feel like I needed this,” Page said. “That’s why I wanted to take a break in the first place. Even though I’ve given myself something to do in an essentially competitive way, it still doesn’t have the same kind of pressure. So 100 percent I feel so nice and just the atmosphere in the gym, just learning, being a complete student again and I’m not so specific about rankings and who I’m going to fight next, every move means something. Just, no, I can go out on the pitch and enjoy myself.

“It’s a bit like when I first encountered this sport. It was supposed to be six months. I think it was nine months after I joined the sport that I had my first MMA fight. Since then, the competition has been very specific to the opponents. I thought, “Let me rest and become a student again.”

Cond retired from MMA in July 2021, but he is a beloved and respected figure in the fighting world.
