One person was injured in a crash involving an Ottawa Police Service cruiser

One person was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a multi-vehicle crash involving an Ottawa Police Service cruiser in Ottawa’s south end.

Emergency services responded to a collision on Bank Street off Johnston Road just after 5pm on Saturday.

An Ottawa police duty inspector said on social media that officers were at the scene of a “serious collision” and asked drivers to avoid the area.

CTV News Ottawa photos from the scene show a heavily damaged police SUV with a deployed airbag. There was also a damaged vehicle on the sidewalk.

A spokesperson for the Ottawa Paramedic Service told CTV News Ottawa one person was transported to hospital in stable condition. There is no other information about the victim.
