Wash. A policeman, deputy rescuer of a woman who drove into the lake

Rescuers dove into a Washington lake to save a 70-year-old woman who went off a boat ramp, fire officials said.

The incident was reported to rescuers on November 1 at 10:48 a.m. in Lake Stevens, the Snohomish Regional Fire Department said in a Facebook post.

The deputy and a police officer called the driver to the lake and jumped into the water to rescue the driver, officials said.

They dragged her to the dock, where doctors performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on her.

Meanwhile, another rescuer dove into the water to make sure there were no other people in the submerged vehicle, authorities said.

The woman was taken to hospital after doctors checked her pulse.

“The circumstances under which the vehicle entered the water are currently unknown,” firefighters said.

There is no current information on the woman’s condition.

Lake Stevens is approximately 55 miles north of Seattle.
