Jamestown man charged with machete and pepper spray attacks – ABC 6 News

(ABC 6 News) – A North Dakota man is charged with assault, criminal damage to property and threats of violence following an incident at the Albert Lea Trails Travel Center.

William Frederick Seekins, 39, faces the following charges: three counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon; number of third-degree assaults; number of threats of violence; and a charge of criminal destruction of property.

Court documents show that on October 30, Albert Lea police spoke to two men who said they were talking when Seekins “came out brandishing a knife.”

According to the men, Seekins threw a bottle of urine at them – striking one of them, swinging a “large, serrated machete” at a total of three men, including one with pepper spray.

Seekins allegedly complained that he woke up to two other men talking.

A third man said he joined the scene after Seekins pepper-sprayed one of the other men.

The third man punched Seekins. Seekins allegedly chased him around the parking lot with a machete, threatening to kill him and his dog.

Court documents say police saw surveillance footage of Seekins swinging a machete and chasing other truck drivers.

Court documents also say Seekins cut an emergency hose in the air brake system.

Warrants filed publicly in Freeborn County Superior Court show police found a Gerber machete and a canister of pepper spray in Seekins’ truck.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on December 19.
