Wife of Texas News anchor who ‘died unexpectedly’ grateful for ‘tremendous outpouring of love’

The wife of a Texas news anchor who died suddenly is thanking those who showed support following her husband’s death.

According to his co-host Lindsay Liepman, Kris Radcliffe “died unexpectedly” on Wednesday, October 30, announced the news during NBC affiliate KCEN-TV’s evening broadcast the same day.

In a statement shared by her sister Libby, Kris’ wife, Eden Radcliffe, expressed gratitude to those who supported her and her family following her husband’s death. KCEN-TV.

“On behalf of my sister, she wanted me to convey our deep thanks to you for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support for her girls, their girls and their families,” Libby wrote. “I have been receiving and reading your texts and posts, but it is simply too difficult to respond at this time.”

During an on-air tribute to Kris, Liepman shared her thoughts and prayers with Eden, the two daughters he shared with Kris, and their two grandchildren who “adored” the journalist.

“Every time he came into the newsroom, he told a new story about his grandchildren,” said an emotional Liepman.

Radcliffe worked at KCEN-TV for 22 years. The California native began working for the Central Texas station in 2002 as a sports anchor and eventually began hosting the evening news in 2018.

During her on-air tribute, Liepman described Kris as a “funny, real and intelligent” man.

“I looked forward to working with Kris every night, and I think you all could see that at home,” she explained. “We had fun here. Kris loved this community and never took his role for granted.”

She added: “If I had known that yesterday would be our last news show together, I would have ignored the end signals from our producers and just laughed a little longer at all his jokes. He always has lots of jokes.”

Liepman, who was unable to complete the broadcast, told viewers she wanted to share what Kris was like with everyone at KCEN-TV. She fondly recalled conversations with him about family.

“I would thank him for everything he taught me and passed on to all of you, the viewers, but that’s not how life works,” Liepman added.

According to the anchor, a memorial service for Kris will be held on Friday, November 8 at 11 a.m. local time at Renew Church in Waco, Texas. posthumous.
