1 injured, 1 charged in fight at Greenbrier Middle School

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A student is charged in connection with a fight at Greenbrier High School, the Columbia County School District announced Monday.

Parents were notified in a letter from principal Toni Cliatt about the fight that occurred during physical education classes on Monday afternoon.

One student was injured and one student faced criminal charges and was also held accountable under the Student Code of Conduct.

“The safety of students and staff is the highest priority and although this was not a true emergency, the incident occurred in the presence of other students and we felt it was important to notify our parents,” the district said. “Please remember that inappropriate physical contact is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”
