A Brooklyn Park man and woman were among the five killed Friday in a crash near Madison

Two people from Brooklyn Park were among those killed Friday evening in a crash outside Madison, Wisconsin.

On Monday, The Dane County Sheriff’s Office released the age, gender and location of the incident each of the five people killed came from.

The dead included a 48-year-old man and woman from Brooklyn Park, a 55-year-old man from Belleville, Wisconsin, a 55-year-old woman from Crandon, Wisconsin, and a 54-year-old man from Crandon, Wisconsin.

All five were driving a Tesla. The sheriff’s office says they, along with Verona police, fire and EMS responded to the crash at 11:12 p.m. The press release says the vehicle went off the road, hit a tree, and the Tesla burst into flames. The accident occurred in Verona, a city about 16 miles southwest of Madison.

All five people traveling in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s office says the cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
