AR Rahman mourns the death of Quincy Jones

LOS ANGELES, California (ANI) – Quincy Jones, a legendary musical genius whose influence spanned decades, has died at the age of 91. AR Rahman paid tribute to his close friend, known for producing Michael Jackson’s iconic album Jailsharing a series of photos and expressing a deep sense of loss. In his heartfelt caption, Rahman wrote, “Another shining star from Earth faded into infinity.”

Jones died on the night of November 3 at his home. The Jones family released a statement saying: “Tonight, it is with full but broken hearts that we must share the news of the death of our father and brother Quincy Jones. While this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the wonderful life he lived and know there will never be another like him.

With an impressive heritage, Jones was a prolific songwriter and producer. He created the soundtrack for the 1969 film Italian workwhich featured Michael Caine and won six of the 27 Grammy Awards for his 1990 album Back to the block. He was also a three-time winner of the Producer of the Year award.

Jones began his famous production collaboration with Michael Jackson in 1979 with the release of the singer’s solo album Outside the wall. In 2006, he received a Tony Award nomination for producing the musical adaptation Violet.

He published his autobiography entitled Qin 2001, and the audio version won a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album in 2002. Jones has been married and divorced three times, and according to Diversity.
