Two Chinese citizens were shot dead in Karachi, Pakistan

Two Chinese nationals were injured in gunfire in Karachi on Tuesday, the latest in a series of brutal attacks targeting Chinese nationals in Pakistan. Police and hospital authorities confirmed the incident, raising new concerns about the safety of Chinese nationals in the country.
In October, two Chinese nationals were killed and 10 others injured in a suicide bombing near Karachi airport claimed by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army.
In March, five Chinese engineers were killed in a suicide bombing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Since the launch of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) a decade ago, 21 Chinese nationals have lost their lives in such attacks.
China’s ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong condemned the recent violence, calling for decisive action against anti-China terrorist groups. He said at the seminar that security issues were the main challenge standing in the way of CPEC’s success. He called on Pakistan to strengthen measures to protect Chinese citizens and projects, stating that “without a safe environment, nothing can be achieved.”
