Jason Kelce apologizes for his involvement in incident involving Heckler’s homophobic slur

Jason Kelce he apologized for his part incident in which he participated on the weekend with an unruly fan.

The former Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro was in Pennsylvania on Saturday when he appeared on ESPN’s pregame show “College GameDay” Ohio State vs. Penn State duel. Footage from social media showed Kelce walking through the crowd near Beaver Stadium while several people asked for selfies and acknowledged him. However, one person wearing a Penn State hoodie hurled anti-LGBTQ slurs at Kelce about his brother, Travis Kelce plays strong for the Kansas City Chiefs.

“Hey Kelce! How does it feel like your brother (expletive) is dating Taylor Swift?” – this person shouted.

Kelce turned around grabbed the fan’s phone and drove it into the ground, then picked up the phone and moved on. In another video shared on social media, a fan can be seen chasing Kelce and saying “give me my phone.” Kelce then replied, “Who’s the (expletive) now?”

Jason Kelce: ‘I’m not proud’ of incident

Kelce, now an analyst for ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown,” apologized for his role in the incident before the Chiefs vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night.

“Everyone saw everything that happened this week on social media,” Kelce said. “Listen, I’m not happy with anything that happened. I’m not proud of it. In the heat of the moment I decided to greet hate with hate and I just don’t think it’s productive.

“At that point I had sunk to a level I shouldn’t have.”

Kelce added that he tries to live by treating people with decency and respect, but he “fell short” of his expectations.

The Super Bowl 52 champion is in Kansas City, where ESPN is broadcasting the game, which includes his brother, who is dating pop icon Swift.
