Berbatov criticizes Man Utd’s “embarrassing” duo, pointing to potential new signing

Former Man Utd striker Dimitar Berbatov believes Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have been “embarrassing” in front of goal this season.

The Red Devils have had a terrible start to the new season, with the Premier League giants managing just three wins in ten Premier League games.

Amorim will join on November 11 before the next international break, and there have already been rumors that some of his current Sporting Lisbon squad could accompany him to Old Trafford in January.

One of those heavily linked is former Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres, who has scored 20 goals in 15 appearances this season as Man Utd look to improve their goalscoring output.

He said Berbatov appeared to hint at the possibility of Gyokeres moving to Old Trafford Heavenly sports: “This guy, Viktor Gyokeres, is scoring runs now.

“So I think there is a special bond with the coach so maybe we will probably see him in a United shirt.”

Asked if he would welcome signing with Sweden, Berbatov replied: “From what he’s showing at the moment, I think so.

– Our strikers are not producing or scoring goals at the moment. We are 18th in the league (for goals scored so far this season), which is embarrassing for a club like United. Therefore, I would like to see this position improved.”

There have been reports that Gyokeres is not keen on joining Amorim at Man Utd due to the uncertainty surrounding the club in recent years, with one outlet claiming that the striker is not keen on a move to the Red Devils as the club is “disorganized, unstable and constantly on fire”.

In a speech on Thursday after scoring four goals against Estrela, Gyokeres responded to speculation about a move to Man Utd.

The Swede told reporters: “Are you going to Manchester United with Amorim? I don’t know. I’m here. As you can see, I like working at Sporting.

“It’s nothing I really think about. I’m sad about his (Amorima) passing. We wish him all the best.”
