Attempted cocaine smuggling at Toronto Pearson Airport

Two travelers have been charged with allegedly concealing and carrying a large amount of cocaine in their luggage on a flight from Jamaica.

On October 20, 2024, border officers from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) found approximately 7 kilograms of powder cocaine hidden in a passenger’s luggage upon arrival at Pearson International Airport from Kingston, Jamaica.

According to police, the approximate street value of the seized cocaine is approximately $210,000.

Shane Audley Black and Oshin Yulanda McLeod were charged with a total of four charges in connection with the investigation.

“Illegal drug imports fuel organized crime, overwhelm our public health system and devastate communities and families,” said Inspector John McMath of the Toronto Airport RCMP Detachment in a speech press release.
