The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office paid tribute to the deputies killed in the crash via social media

This was confirmed by Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw two deputies died and a third was in critical condition after being struck by an SUV along Southern Blvd. on Thursday, November 21.

Three officers did it he pulled over to the side of the road with a damaged PBSO motorcycle, was waiting for a fourth deputy and jumper cables when a 31-year-old woman drove into them while trying to avoid hitting a slowing car in front of her. The officers were flown to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach.

Florida police unions and sheriff’s departments have shown their support both online and in person. Hours after the crash, law enforcement officials, including Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputies, held a procession for the officer in critical condition and the two people killed. Florida leaders and politicians took to social media to express condolences and pray for the families.

“We are very saddened to learn of the recent deaths of PBSO officers who gave their lives to protect our community. Their unwavering commitment to protecting and serving will be forever remembered and appreciated by our community,” James said in a statement. “Unfortunately, they have paid the ultimate sacrifice while working to protect the safety of our community. Our community owes each of them an eternal debt of gratitude.”

“We express our deepest sympathy and condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased. There is no greater pain than learning that a loved one will not be coming home,” he continued. “To each of the family members of the deceased, our thoughts and prayers that they may receive supernatural strength to survive this most difficult time.”

The mayor concluded his speech with a prayer that the PBSO family and the deputies’ families “may find a source of supernatural comfort and peace” during this difficult time.

“God bless you all.”
