28 Years Later doesn’t evoke Jim Cillian Murphy

28 years later I won’t see it Cillian Murphy return to reprise his role.

The film starred an Oscar winner The original apocalyptic film by Danny Boyle 28 days later in 2002 as the main character Jim, but it has now been confirmed that he will not return in the upcoming sequel.

“We wanted him to be involved and he wanted to be involved,” said producer Andrew Macdonald Empire in a new interview. “He’s not in the first movie, but I hope Jim shows up somewhere along the way.”

While Oppenheimer the star is not in front of the camera 28 years later has a role behind the scenes.

“He is currently involved as an executive producer,” Macdonald continues. “I hope we can collaborate with him in some way in the future on a trilogy.”

28 years later is the first in a completely new trilogy based on the original film by director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland. Macdonald’s comments certainly suggest that Murphy may return in both roles as Jim 28 years later: The Temple of Bones expected in 2026 or an as-yet-untitled third film.
