Los Angeles police said they arrested a man suspected of trying to start a fire in the Woodland Hills neighborhood.

The statement said officers received a call at 4:32 p.m. local time Thursday (00:32 GMT Friday) regarding a “possible arson suspect in the 21700 block of Ybarra Road.”

“Comments to the call stated that a man was heard stating that the suspect was ‘trying to start a fire,'” we read.

“The suspect is in custody and was transported to Topanga Station.”

Ybarra Road is located immediately north of the area where the Palisades Fire has been burning since Tuesday, but police emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and they cannot confirm “any connection to any of this suspect’s fires” at this time.
