Man dies after assault outside Waterbury bar – city’s first homicide of 2025 – NBC Connecticut

A man was killed on Saturday as a result of an attack outside a bar in Waterbury, and his death is the first homicide in this city in 2025.

Officers were called after a report of an armed robbery outside a bar on West Main Street around 2 a.m

When police arrived, they said they found a 22-year-old Waterbury man who had been attacked. He was taken to Waterbury Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation, authorities learned that a 27-year-old Waterbury man was brought to the emergency room at Saint Mary’s Hospital. According to reports, the man was stabbed and later died from his injuries. His identity has not been revealed.

According to investigators, both men were involved in a physical knife fight outside the bar with people they knew. The fight reportedly escalated and ended in an assault and stabbing.

The incident is believed to have been isolated and stemmed from a personal dispute.
