Man accused of dismembering roommate dies by suicide in prison | Lehigh County

LEHIGH CO., Pa. – Lehigh County District Attorney Holihan has released information in the death of a man last May who was accused of killing and dismembering his roommate.

The district attorney says Joshua Moser, 34, of Slatington, was found alone in a solitary cell on Saturday.

Officials say Moser was found by personnel attempting life-saving measures and was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon.

The Lehigh County coroner ruled the cause of death a suicide.

In May 2024, Moser was charged with the death of 37-year-old David Hittinger.

Hittinger’s body was dismembered and scattered in many places.

Moser was charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence.
