Austin police responded to the shooting of a barricaded person in Lockhart Saturday night

Authorities said multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Austin Police Department, were involved in the shooting and wounding of a person who barricaded himself in Lockhart on Saturday.

According to the Lockhart Police Department, the Austin Police SWAT team received a request for assistance from Lockhart law enforcement at 5:44 p.m., APD said, after a person had barricaded himself in a residential area about a mile from downtown Lockhart. Both law enforcement agencies provided limited information about the incident.

According to APD, a man was shot in the 800 block of Third Street shortly before 8 p.m. and taken to a local hospital. No police officers were injured. No information was provided about the suspect’s condition.

Lockhart police said they would release more information later today. APD said it would provide more details on Monday.
