Chicago police say a man was seriously injured in a stabbing at an apartment building near Wes Side

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police said a man was stabbed and seriously injured at an apartment building on the Near West Side on Sunday evening.

The stabbing occurred around 11:32 a.m. in the 2000 block of West Jackson Boulevard.

Police said the 41-year-old victim and a 56-year-old man argued in the hallway of the apartment complex.

Police said the 56-year-old man took out a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the neck and back, then fled the scene.

Police said the victim was transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

Police said the suspect was later arrested and taken to Stroger Hospital with minor injuries.

Detectives from Zone Three are investigating.
