Trigger warning: This article contains references to suicide

Aubrey Plaza’s husband, Jeff Baena, is honored in a heartfelt obituary published in the Miami Herald. The director died on January 3 at the age of 47 by suicide. In an obituary published on a media website, Baena was described as a loving son, husband, brother and friend.

It then describes the director’s roots in Miami, his school years in New York, and his move to Los Angeles to pursue his filmmaking dreams.

The published article also discussed Baena’s preferences, including the book he read as a child. It began with the words: “Jeff left us too soon, but despite his woefully too short life, he left us treasured memories of a talented filmmaker, as well as a very special person on so many different levels.”

Earlier, Plaza and Baena’s family released a statement confirming the unfortunate news. The statement mentioned that the director’s relatives are experiencing a phase of tragedy and are grateful for the support received from fans, friends and well-wishers.
