A Florida man accused of drugging, raping a woman and threatening to kill a child in Baldwin County

A Florida man is accused of multiple sexual assaults and threatening to kill a child if his mother didn’t have sex with him.

Gavin Jernigan was charged with three counts of first-degree rape, willful abuse of a child under 18, sodomy and molestation.

Jernigan was arrested last week in Florida, but the alleged molestation occurred in Baldwin County. Records show Jernigan lives in Cantonment, Florida.

Court documents show that Jernigan tried to pressure the victim several times by threatening to kill her child, who was under one year old.

Jernigan also violently shook the baby, court documents show.

Jernigan allegedly raped the victim several times and, during one attack, strangled her.

The documents also show that Jernigan used sleeping pills to incapacitate her and sexually assault her.

Jernigan’s bail was set at $231,000. If he establishes a bond, the terms of the bond are that he will have no contact with the mother or child while being monitored under house arrest.
