Man commits suicide in Indore; accuses wife of molestation and abuse of law – ThePrint –

Indore, Jan 22 (PTI) A 28-year-old man in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore city allegedly committed suicide, claiming he was harassed by his wife and her relatives, and left a note blaming women for abusing the existing law, a report said on Wednesday Police.

In his alleged suicide note, Nitin Padiyar also appealed to the Center to change the law without mentioning any specific law.

The incident comes more than a month after a 34-year-old technology executive died by suicide in Bengaluru, leaving behind a suicide note and a video of alleged harassment by his estranged wife and her family. He also mentioned legal disputes initiated by his wife, including allegations of murder and dowry harassment.

Padiyar allegedly hanged himself at his house in Banganga police station limits on Monday evening, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ramsanehi Mishra said.

In the note, Padiyar mentioned the names of his wife, mother-in-law and other close relatives of his spouse, accusing them of molestation, the official added.

The allegations are being investigated and appropriate legal action will be taken after investigation, he added.

The police added that an autopsy was performed.

In the note, the deceased stated, “I, Nitin Padiyar, request the Government of India to change the law of the country as women are abusing it. If you don’t change this legal system, several men and their families will be ruined every day.” “I request all young people in India not to get married and if they do, they will get married after reaching an agreement,” he said.

The man also announced in the note that if anyone realizes that injustice has befallen him, they should seek justice for him after his death or “wait for their turn.” PTI HWP ADU GK
