A Richmond man died in an ATV accident while hunting in Dixmont

A Richmond man died Saturday after he crashed his all-terrain vehicle while hunting in Dixmont.

Patrick LaFlamme, 65, of Richmond was out hunting on his ATV on Saturday morning, according to Mark Latti, director of communications for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. When LaFlamme did not return to camp for breakfast, his friends went out to look for him. They found LaFlamme dead on an old bag or bumpy road about a mile off Firetower Road.

A preliminary investigation by the Maine Ranger Service found that the ATV Plummer was riding rolled over on him, causing his death, Latti said.

The Maine State Fire Marshal responded to the scene around noon Saturday and was assisted by the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, the Dixmont Fire Department and the Plymouth Fire Department.

LaFlamme was taken to Plummer Funeral Home in Augusta.
