RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — Broughton High School is on Code Red lockdown while law enforcement responds to a potential threat at the school.

According to Raleigh police, all students at the school are safe.

During a Code Red lockdown, no one is allowed to enter or leave campus. The entire building is locked and no one is allowed to enter or leave the building until permission is given.

The Raleigh Police Department said it received a report of a suspicious person at the school, but there is no active shooter at the school. This person has not been found yet, and officers have not confirmed whether there is a threat to students.

Still, the school was closed as a precaution.

The closure comes on a day when additional security measures were already in force at the school. That’s why A Broughton student was caught with a gun on Monday off campus during lunch.
