A Mansfield man died Friday following a skateboard/car accident

A 28-year-old Mansfield man died from injuries he suffered on a skateboard after he failed to yield to traffic and struck a vehicle after running a stop sign.

The accident occurred Friday at 9:20 p.m. on North Walnut Street at West Fifth Street

Bob Ball, Richland County coroner’s investigator, said Douglas Mitchel Miller, a skateboarder, died Sunday at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.

Miller, of Mansfield, was thrown from his skateboard onto the road, according to a police report on the Mansfield accident.

The police report shows that the driver of the vehicle was not injured.
